As you all may know, I am a recent college graduate so this is my first August that will not be spent preparing for the back to school madness. It is such a weird feeling especially since I still live nearby my old college and am watching staff prepare for a new semester. Today, I thought I’d show all of my college and high school readers (or those who just love stationary, décor and stylish accessories) the items that are not only going to make them feel super stylish but also the items that you just need (*cough* shower shoes) to make the year a great one. Some of these items are things that I did not originally think I would use or choose but I now know are lifesavers.
A printer was a must have for me– if we didn’t have one in our dorm, we had to pay to use the ones on campus and A) that really adds up when writing dozens of papers and B) You don’t want to be that student who’s late to class because the campus printer wasn’t working. The Five Star notebooks are one of the practical items I was referring to. I’m not going to say there aren’t cuter notebooks out there but I would say you won’t find any better quality ones. I ONLY used these in college (+ they have built in folders so you don’t even have to buy any)

Having a comfortable and cozy dorm is a must. I always slipped into my slippers as soon as I walked in the door. The jewelry organizer is something that would have been SO useful for me that I didn’t have.

To add to the cozy effect, I highly recommend a rug. The tile in my dorm was always freezing and so bare looking. Lastly, sheets and a pretty comforter of course (in Twin XL for the perfect fit)

First of all, I wish I had seen this beautiful Kate Spade bedding on sale when I was in school. Also, a towel wrap and shower shoes are necessities. I like that these shower shoes are thick… (trust me, you want no part of your feet touching the ground) This Keurig is the one that I currently own and I’m in love with it!

A mattress pad is something I’d recommend splurging on because you can’t be too careful. A shower caddy that is made of fabric that can be hung was so useful so that I didn’t have to set my stuff on the ground of the community showers. Of course everyone needs a flamingo laundry hamper and cute mugs right?

Rain boots and a rain jacket. I had NO idea how regularly I’d be using these. They basically became my uniform (especially during spring semester) so I’d splurge on nice ones.

A wristlet is a must have (+ this one is a steal) because you’ll want to carry as little of your belongings as possible since you’ll likely be weighed down with books and a computer (but you’ll constantly be needing your campus ID & keys) Oh and by the way, DO NOT BUY YOUR BOOKS FROM THE CAMPUS BOOKSTORE…Amazon is your new BFF 😉
